你 从  哪里 来? Where are you from?
Nǐ cóng nǎli lái?
You from which-inside come?

他 从  哪里 来? Where is he from?
Tā cóng nǎli lái?
He from which-inside comes?

陈 先生 从 哪里 来? Where does Mr. Chen come from?
Chén xiānsheng cóng nǎli lái?
Chen first-born from which-inside come?

今天 我们 学校 来了 个 可爱的 女教师。 A cute female teacher came to our school today.
Jīntiān wŏmen xuéxiào lái le gè kĕàide nǚjiàoshī.
Today I-plural school came-finished one can-love-of female-teach-master.

我的 朋友 没 来。 My friend did not come.
Wǒde péngyou méi lái.
I-of friend not come.

经理 没 来。The manager did not come.
Jīnglǐ méi lái.
Classic-logic not come.

刘 先生 昨天 来 了。 Mr. Liu came yesterday.
Liú xiānsheng zuótiān lái le.
Liu first-born yesterday came finished.
