这 孩子 很 聪明。 This child is smart.
Zhè háizi hĕn cōngmíng.
This child-person very clever-bright.

您 女儿 很 聪明。 Your daughter is very smart, sir.
Nín nǚér hĕn cōngmíng.
You female-son very clever-bright.

我 听说 郑 先生 很 聪明。 I've heard that Mr. Zheng is really smart.
Wŏ tīngshuō Zhèng xiānshēng hĕn cōngmíng.
I listen-speak Zheng first-born very clever-bright.

他 很 聪明。 He is very smart.
Tā hĕn cōngmíng.
He very clever-bright.

我 真 不 聪明。 I'm really not smart.
Wŏ zhēn bù cōngmíng.
I really no clever-bright.

老板 真 笨。 The boss is really stupid.
Lǎobǎn zhēn bèn.
Old-boss really stupid.

她 男朋友 真 是 笨。 Her boyfriend is really stupid.
Tā nánpéngyou zhēn shì bèn.
She male-friend really is stupid.
